Graduate students: I am excited to have new Ph.D. students join the lab here at the University of Arizona.  The EEB department here is one of the best in the country, and Tucson is located in a region with incredible herpetological diversity and amazing scenery (and just a day’s drive from tropical forests in Sonora, Mexico).  If you are interested in joining the lab, I suggest that you: (1) look at the publications on the lab web page to get a sense of the research that we do, (2) consult the department’s web site for details on applying (deadline for applications is December 1), and (3) contact me.  Admission to the Ph.D. program is very competitive and generally requires good grades and significant research experience.  I am happy to advise students interested in broad evolutionary and ecological questions, and projects that include reptiles, amphibians, and/or phylogenies are a particularly good fit. However, other organisms and approaches are also potentially welcome.  Most importantly, I am looking for Ph.D. students who are interested in a long-term career in research in ecology and evolutionary biology.

Postdoctoral researchers: Please contact me if you are interested in doing postdoctoral research in the lab.

Undergraduate students: We have had dozens of undergraduate students do research in our lab.  Several of these have resulted in scientific publications co-authored by undergraduates.  Please contact me if you are interested.
